A picture of Krista, looking a little smug but facing a quiet existential crisis behind some nifty eyeglass frames.

Ridiculously Proud Métis

Just me sitting at a table, doing some beadwork, giving that classic Auntie look over a rather plain pair of glasses.

I should start with an appropriate way to introduce myself. I am Krista, a Métis Mom, artist, spouse, relative, and a member of the Otepimisiwak Métis Government. My Métis family comes from St. Albert and Lac St. Anne (and a few other places), but I call Edmonton home. I thrive in art, I love my culture, and opportunities to share either or both make my day a great one.

I’ve walked this road for quite a while now, and am still not tired of the scenery.

I’m incredibly awkward but still enjoy when people come up and say Hi. Just please don’t take my deer-in-the-headlights stare and weird mumbling in the wrong way.

Maarsii, thank you, for taking a moment to see who I am and with that I wish that you find a bright moment of joy in your day.
